July 2014: Annual Sports Day Celebrations At The Thamil Cultural Society of British Columbia

I have never met any of them before but I felt like one of them as soon as I arrived there. There were approximately 50 people both children and adults at the British Columbia Thamil Sangam’s annual sports day celebration at Vancouver (5th July 2014). I was very pleased to talk to them about my bicycle adventure which I believe inspired them, judging from the response. I have uploaded some of the videos where I answer their questions.

It is amazing how common culture and language connects people instantly. I felt like part of their group even though I have not met any of them before. I was greatly moved by their support and encouragement for my bicycle tour. I wish to thank them for giving me an opportunity to talk to them.

I was deeply humbled by their generosity. Many thanks once again to all the members of the British Columbia Thamil Sangam.
